Inpatient Rehabilitation UK Rehabilitation UK is a treatment process that allows you to stay in a controlled and drug-free environment. Clients are checked into a rehab clinic for a few weeks, months or even years and can enjoy a number of facilities and treatments to heal the body and mind. This could include things like equine therapy, music as a form of relaxation or sport. Some rehab clinics may also offer holistic treatments such as acupuncture or reiki.
Navigating the Landscape: A Comprehensive Guide to Inpatient Rehabilitation in the UK
This study uses de-identified data from the UK Rehabilitation Outcomes Collaborative national clinical registry, which records the outcomes and cost efficiency of patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) admitted to level 1 and 2 specialist rehabilitation services in England (but not the eight designated national SCI centres). The results demonstrate that the majority of SCI patients who access specialist rehabilitation receive effective and highly cost efficient care in levels 1 and 2 services. The results also indicate that these services are not merely serving as interim care facilities for patients while they wait to be discharged to the national SCI centres. The mean annual savings from admission to discharge are estimated at PS25 500 per patient.
Our aim is to restore function to as high a level as possible by using multidisciplinary team assessment and intervention. We will work with you to set meaningful rehabilitation goals that are relevant for your individual needs and to plan ongoing care in the community as well as preparing for discharge home. This will be done with your physiatrist, who is a specially trained physician who specialises in the rehabilitation of people with severe neurological and musculoskeletal impairments.
